"Dinosaurs on a Spaceship" Reviews....

Bigger On The Inside has “Don’t Move! Do You Really Think I’m That Stupid I Wouldn’t Notice?”
‘Dinosaurs on a Spaceship’, written by Chris Chibnall, is a light, frothy story with little substance and ultimately unsatisfying. The tone varies wildly being either too childish or too dark, never reaching the satisfying middle ground of family entertainment....

Impossible Podcasts has Doctor Who Review – 7.2 ‘Dinosaurs on a Spaceship’
Dinosaurs on a Spaceship is pretty much hardwired to be something I enjoy. It’s got Dinosaurs, comedy and enough sci-fi in-jokes to choke a T-Rex. And unlike last weeks episode it actually has a plot, with a clear start, middle and end....

Bob Canada's BlogWorld has Doctor Who Season 7, Episode 2: Dinosaurs On A Spaceship
"If you've been wanting to introduce your friends to the world of Doctor Who, this would be a good episode with which to do so. It's fast paced, fun and over the top, and is a pretty good sample of what the series is like. Plus there's not a huge amount of baggage that would need explained to a newbie, which is a plus...."

This way up has Review In A Blog
`Dinosaurs On A Spaceship` is just as much fun as it sounds. Handed the title to do with as he wished (and which the budget allows), Chris Chibnall delivers his best Doctor Who episode to date. A while back his episode `42` made much of its real time setting; the adventure would unfold in just 42 minutes. `Dinosaurs On A Spaceship` seems if anything even faster. It appears to pack more into its 42 minutes than `42` does. And it’s got dinosaurs. On a spaceship. Just the way Matt Smith says it perfectly captures the mood being evoked here. It’s fun, frantic, fannish and frivolous....

Cathode Ray Tube has Dinosaurs on a Spaceship Review
The Doctor and the dinosaurs. It seems you can't have one without the other. If they're not jumping up and down, unconvincingly, in some Derbyshire caves during Doctor Who and the Silurians (1970), then they're popping up in London, even less convincingly realised, as part of some fiendish plot to roll back time in 1974's Invasion of the Dinosaurs....

Ovinicus has Dinosaurs on a Spaceship
This story sees the return of the Silurians, a race already familiar to Chibnall who wrote The Hungry Earth/ Cold Blood back in 2010. This story doesn't however just reuse an old villain for the sake of having it pop up - it's a story that adds to their canon, not all the Silurians decided to burrow underground, some of them took to the stars instead...

Tea with Morbius has Dinosaurs on a Spaceship
"I can't believe I am writing this, but Dinosaurs on a Spaceship was not nearly as awful as I had expected. It probably helped that this story did not have the high pretensions of the previous disaster, Asylum of the Daleks. This was a story that set out to be enjoyable rubbish and for maybe a few times in the episode, I actually came close to enjoying it...."

The Nerdist has Doctor Who Review: “Dinosaurs on a Spaceship”
"I have to confess; when I heard the title of episode two of Series 7 of Doctor Who was to be “Dinosaurs on a Spaceship,” I was a bit cautious. Seemed a very silly title, the likes of which we haven’t seen in the show, save, of course, “Let’s Kill Hitler.” After the first teaser and even the full trailer for the episode aired, I was still a bit wary. It just seemed ridiculous and Doctor Who isn’t, traditionally, known for pulling off broad comedy. It needed to have something besides people just running around a spaceship after dinosaurs....

BBC America - Anglophenia has ‘Doctor Who’ Recap: ‘Dinosaurs on a Spaceship’
We begin, once again, with the Doctor pressed up against the TARDIS by a woman keen to find out if any of his other vital organs appear in duplicate form. And as usual, he’s delightfully flustered, but immune to her charm. Well kind of immune. The kind of immune that means you invite the girl in and actually give her coffee rather than… anything else....

Funk's House of Geekery has Doctor Who Review 7.2 – ‘Dinosaurs on a Spaceship’
As you may have guessed the story involves dinosaurs being on a spaceship. While this may sound like something that requires a time consuming set-up the writers are just as keen to get into the action as we are. Within the first few minutes The Doctor has taken a phone call in Ancient Egypt about a spaceship on a collision course with Earth and decided to take Queen Nefertiti with him....

Bert's All-New Citrus Sarcophagus has 5 things I learned from Dinosaurs on a Spaceship
No couple should ever wear the same pattern. Even if one’s covered it up slightly and they’re not planning to leave the house. Further stripes for Rory came in the form of a Doctor lip-lock. I’d completely forgotten about the old RTD house rule that all companions had to get a snog at some point. Although I think they might have left Adam Mitchell out. Oops!...

Comic Book Resources has Questions About “Dinosaurs On A Spaceship”
If there’s one thing to say about the second episode of the new season of Doctor Who, it’s that those making the show are definitely taking that whole “A Blockbuster Every Episode” idea very seriously. If nothing else, look at this week’s episode, which puts the stupid/awesome high concept right there in the title. That said, if you thought there might be questions arising from putting dinosaurs into orbit, you’d be right. There’s five of them, in fact…

A Mad Man with a Box has Dinosaurs on a Spaceship with Brian Walton
My good friend, editor-in-chief of Nerdist News, and dinosaur enthusiast Brian Walton returns to the podcast to take on episode 2 of series 7. The Doctor has a gang, Mitchell and Webb are robots and of course there are dinosaurs. It all adds up to a pretty fun episode of “Doctor Who” and a pretty fun episode of this podcast....
